Entry Five : Read the newspaper excerpt dated 3 March, 2013 taken from New Strait Times. You will then write your opinion as a response that to be sent to Viewpoint, a column where readers can share their thoughts.

Based on the newspaper excerpt dated 3 March 2013 taken from New Strait Times titled Prisoners to get varsity-level courses. In my opinion, it is a good thing when The Prisons Department think about the prisoners future by implementing several measures to enhance the skills and their educational level. This is because they can have a bright future, improve their life better and avoid from being despised.

By providing them a skills training and university-level education their can have a bright future. People easily judge them. Whoever who had sat in jail will find unsuccessful in their life. Their journey in their life is still long after going out from the prison. If they do not learn something and do something for their future,they will find difficulties in their life such as hard in finding a job based on the qualification that they have.

Besides that, through this they can improve their life in a better condition. They may find a job easily if they have knowledge. People must not left them behind or ignore them just because they are prisoners. Not all prisoners will continue being wicked or bad. After getting a punishment inside the prison, most of them will realize and regret on what they have done. People must gives them a chance to have a good life.

Furthermore, they may avoid themselves from being despised. By having a lot of knowledge, people will see others with a good view. Prisoners must be a hardworking in order to get the best skills and a good knowledge. So, they will not being despised by others. 

As a conclusion, I agree with The Prisons Department do as they think about the fate of the prisoners. It is important so that our people will not left behind, economy of the country may be increases because of having a skilled and educated people and also the country can be develop successfully.

Entry Four : Proposition - Hollywood produces great movies, but they don't always tell the truth even it is based on 'true stories'. Provide at least two (2) premises or counter argument for the proposition. Write them in a complete paragraph.

Here are two premises about Hollywood movies.

Conclusion : Hollywood always great but they do not always tell the truth even though it is based on 'true story'.

Major premise : Hollywood movies do not disappointing their audiences.

Minor premise : The actors performed well.

Minor premise : Audiences attract to watch Hollywood movies.

Major premise : The movies have an attractive story line.

Minor premise : Some of the incidence or action based on the real story is changed and added to make the movies become more interesting.

Minor premise : The audiences do not feel bored.

Here is the complete paragraph based on two (2) premises.

Hollywood always great but they do not always tell the truth even though it is based on 'true story'. That is the best conclusion to describe Hollywood movies nowadays. For my opinion, it is true that Hollywood movies do not tell the truth of the story. I am one of the audiences who like to watch Hollywood movies. There are a reason why Hollywood movie is great but do not always tell the truth as said in a conclusion. First major premise is Hollywood movies do not disappointing their audiences. By looking through the Hollywood movies, the actors in the movies performed very well. They are good in playing with audiences feeling. Such an example, in Ju On movie which one of the ghost movie makes the audiences feel scared and anxious while watching it. For other example in Spiderman movie, the audiences want to know what will happen to the Spiderman and curious what will happen next. This will make the audiences attract to watch Hollywood movies from beginning until the end. Furthermore, second major premise is the movies have an attractive story line. Even though the story comes from the real story, but some of the incidence or action is changed and added. It is because the film director wants to make the movies become more interesting and colorful. Audiences want something new in the movies so that the film director creates a new scene instead of real story. Through the changes happen towards the movie, it will affect the audience. It will make the audiences do not feel bored while watching Hollywood movies.

Entry Three : Stereotyping is exaggerated generalizations associated with a categorizing system, they go beyond the facts at hand and make claims that usually have no valid basis. It is also something that most people find difficult to avoid from doing. What do you think?

To me, stereotype can be in negative side. Why I said it can be negative? Let see on people surrounding us. People nowadays loves to condemn and give comment towards other besides knowing what happen actually. They are easily making judgement towards other. People begins to judge people since the first impression they meet or see or heard about others. 

For instance, the situation is in class and the lecturer is distributing the test paper that has been marked. People does assume that, student who get highest marks is an intelligent student. But, people do not know the real situation. It might be the student is copying in exam without teacher realize. When it comes to the student who is always get lowest marks, people assume that the student is lazy to study. But, it might be the student gives full time to study. When it comes to test, he or she feels nervous and what he or she had studied before is lost in his or her mind.

Through stereotype, people always get misconception. It just a same like assuming people who comes from a certain state. Such an example, people assuming those who are in Penang mostly are mamak descent. But, it is all wrong. Not all people in Penang is mamak. It just a certain only. 

Stereotype is bad. We cannot judge other without find the evidence to prove that the judgement that we did is truth. We also cannot believe what we saw and what we heard from others. It is bias. We must stop judging others starting from now.

Second Entry : What is your perception on househusband?

Househusband is a man who lives with his partner and carries out household duties which usually done by a housewife rather than working outside the home. In Malaysia, it is rarely I heard about househusband because usually a woman will takes place to do all household duties and a man will go for a work.

My perception on househusband is a man can be a good husband to his wife. This is because he can help his wife to do all cleaning work in the house. His wife can relax and get enough rest when all the cleaning works are done by the househusband.

In addition, being a househusband can increase his loves towards his wife. For instance, he can take care about his wife when she is pregnant. A woman who is pregnant needs to care about her fetus.  Househusband has a lot of time at home. So, he can look after his wife for a longer time and spend time together so that his wife and her fetus will fully cared and can avoid from something bad happen during her pregnancy.

Moreover, it can build a strong relationship between a father and children. We always hear a mother always close to her children because mother care about her children. But, househusband can be like a mother too. This is because househusband will prepares all their children need such as iron their school uniform, prepares breakfast, take them at school and many more. Children will feel loved and a strong relationship will be build through this.

In conclusion, it is something good actually if someone being a househusband. They will get a lot of benefits such as being a good husband, increase the love and build a strong relationship. Not only happens between husband and wife but also between children and husband. But, everyone has their own perception on househusband whether it can be positive perception or negative perception.
